‘Crossbow cannibal’: police discover case of tools in the River Aire - Times Online: "The black case, believed to be a major find in the case, was found in the River Aire in Shipley, West Yorkshire, 200 yards downstream from the spot where the dismembered remains of prostitute, Suzanne Blamires, had been dumped in bin bags and a rucksack.
The suitcase was found at the same location as new body parts which detectives say could be animal or human. Officers are confident, however, that they do not belong to Ms Blamires’s body. Forensic tests are being carried out on the remains.
Officers are searching the Aire for the bodies of two missing prostitutes, Susan Rushworth and Shelley Armitage.
Criminology PhD student Stephen Griffiths, 40, has appeared in court charged with the murders of all three women. Asked to confirm his name at Friday’s hearing before Bradford magistrates, he replied: “The Crossbow Cannibal.”"
